Male Chest &
Gynecomastia

Excess glandular tissue (gynecomastia), excess fatty tissue (pseudogynecomastia) and excess axillary (armpit) fatty tissue can cause the male chest to lose its masculine shape and take on a feminine appearance, leaving men feeling self-conscious and causing them to cover these areas with bulky and baggy layers of clothing. In the past, Liposuction and surgical mastopexy were the primary methods for addressing this unwanted problem. Renewal offers a less invasive treatment option to restore the chest to its masculine form.

More Information

Overview: This enhancement, if performed correctly can produce outstanding results. Many men struggle with their chest and it is important to break it down into the various components and problems.

Gynecomastia

This is an excess of glandular breast tissue. In many cases, it is difficult to determine why the glandular tissue arises. The tissue typically feels firm to touch and causes the breast to take on a feminine appearance. There are many options for treating gynecomastia, and it is important to discuss all of the options with Dr. Miller before proceeding with a procedure.

Pseudogynecomastia

Chest/Breast Enlargement due to fatty deposits. If the tissue around the nipples is soft, the enlargement of the breast may be due to fat accumulation. This abnormal accumulation of fatty tissue is caused pseudogynecomastia.

Chest/Pectoralis Definition

Loss of definition to this area is usually due to a blunting of the lateral border of the pectoralis muscle by fat accumulating both on the breast and the armpit (axillary) tissues.

Comparison to conventional liposuction:

  1. Dr. Miller’s technique does not require general anesthesia.
  2. The Smartlipo Triplex laser destroys the fatty deposits and allow for a more gentle removal of the glandular tissues. This reduces surgical risk, bruising and recovery time.
  3. The technique provides smoother result and a more natural transition to surrounding areas.

Comparison to full mastopexy:

  1. Lower risk of nipple retraction. Removal of too much glandular tissue can cause the nipple to cave in or dimple.
  2. Smaller incisions
  3. Less recovery time
