THE DIFFERENCE
PRECISION
TRICONTOUR™
TriContour™, commonly associated with Advanced Liposculpture, uses curated precision instruments in combination with finely honed techniques create gentle removal of unwanted adipose tissue while preserving the healthy tissue
TRADITIONAL LIPOSUCTION
Instruments used during traditional liposuction are typically larger and bulkier. There is no intermediate step preparing the fat for selective removal. It’s similar to using a large crayon versus a fine-tipped pen.
ANESTHESIA
Because there is less damage to healthy tissues, there is less pain and therefore no need for general anesthetics.
The larger, more aggressive cannulas can cause more damage to health tissues which can cause pain that requires general anesthesia to manage.
SAFETY
Preserving healthy tissues and elimination of the anesthesia risks, protect against complications.
The combination of collateral tissue damage and the risk of anesthesia significantly increase morbidity and mortality.
RECOVERY
The preservation of healthy tissues reduces post-treatment pain, reduces bruising, and speeds the healing process.
Damage to healthy tissues can cause excessive swelling, bruising, and injury to muscles, causing severe postoperative pain and prolonged recovery.
RESULTS
With greater precision, the areas of the body can be sculpted to the desired shape and prevent contour irregularities like lumps and waviness caused by skin and muscle damage.
The relative lack of precision of traditional instruments and techniques make it much more difficult to achieve optimal results.

COMPARING THE OPTIONS
Traditional Liposuction
For decades, Liposuction was the only way to get rid of fat around the thighs and legs, but this classical procedure is traumatic to the body and requires a long recovery and excessive risk. The low precision instruments in traditional liposuction can cause severe dimpling, lumpiness and other contour irregularities. Precision is what gives the TriContour™ treatment the clear advantage of safety and results over the traditional methods.
Non-invasive options: Coolsculpting and SculpSure
We want you to get real results. Over the years, we have treated hundreds of areas with non-invasive technologies – first with Coolsculpting and now with SculpSure. Unfortunately, these devices typically promise more than they can deliver and are even worse at addressing the thighs which have complex shapes and wide variations amongst patients. If you are considering one of these treatments, we recommend that you come in for a private consultation to find out which options would work best for you.
Problems with the Inner Thighs
Thighs rubbing together
If your inner thighs are touching, you may find it very uncomfortable to wear skirts and bathing suits. This can cause chaffing of the skin and even change the way you walk. It’s particularly a hinderance to exercise and leading an active lifestyle. Our solution for this thigh rub is Advanced Liposculpture of the inner thighs, usually in combination with 3D Sidefire Skin Tightening. Everyone is different, so first it’s important for you to see an expert to determine what treatment is right for you and if Advanced Liposculpture would work optimally for you.
Skin Laxity and Redundancy (too much skin)
If you have experienced significant weight loss, you may notice skin that gathers and rolls on your inner thigh. As with any technology that addresses skin laxity, there are limitations to our laser treatments, so it’s important to come in for an expert evaluation to determine what would work best for you
Need for Revision Contouring
If you have had liposuction or Coolsculpting, and notice irregular waviness, bulges or indentations, we recommend discussing this directly with Dr. Miller to determine what treatment plan would be best. Dr. Miller has treated hundreds of people from around the world who needed further refinement and correction from previous surgeries.
Problems with the Outer Thigh Complex
Saddle Bags
Fatty deposits in the outer thigh cause bulging and sagging contributing to a disproportionate triangular shape of the silhouette. Solution: Advanced liposculpture of the lateral thighs. Sculpted tapering to the outer buttocks, the infragluteal fold (banana roll) and to the outer leg.
Banana Roll (bananaform fold)
The small roll seen under the buttocks. This must be addressed with care since the shelf and support for the buttocks is under the banana roll. Dr. Miller can look at your anatomy and tell you what is best.
Skin Laxity and Redundancy
If you have experienced significant weight loss in this area, you may notice that the skin of the area may look droopy or deflated. This can cause unsightly bulges and waves or lines in the skin. In this case, you may be a good candidate for a combination treatment of advanced liposculpture and 3D Sidefire skin tightening. We have seen great results in our patients with this technology, but the doctor will need to assess the area to ensure you don’t need something more extensive like a thigh lift.
Waviness, indentations, and other
Contour Irregularities of the Thighs and Legs
If you have had prior liposuction, you may experience irregularities and a lack of smoothness in these areas. This can be due to errors during your surgery or problems in the recovery process. These irregularities can also be a result of genetics or environmental factors such as injury to the area or rapid weight gain or weight loss.
Violin Deformity
The loss of fat above the outer thigh from age and genetics may cause a small indentation above the outer thigh. Reducing your flanks and your outer thighs can improve the silhouette, but you may need fat transfer to this area to optimize the result. You will want to speak directly with your surgeon about this.
Cellulite
Cellulite is very common on outer thigh. If cellulite is a concern, Dr. Miller may offer Cellulaze in conjunction with Advanced liposculpture to improve this. Cellulaze has its limitations, so it’s important for you to discuss this in your consultation to get an accurate picture of what to expect.
The Treatment Process
for the Thighs and Legs
Consultation
Great outcomes begin with the moment you meet the doctor. Dr. Miller will evaluate your problem area and determine the best course of treatment. If you are a candidate, he will use your expressed desires to direct the rest of the treatment process.
Mapping your Body for Optimal Results
Just before your treatment, Dr. Miller will place surface markers so he can mentally visualize your three-dimensional anatomy throughout the treatment process. This allows him to make minor precise adjustments to further refine and optimize your results.
The Treatment
After the area is completely numb, the Dr. Miller uses a small laser fiber to deliver fat melting energy to the area. The fat is then removed and the area is sculpted to its optimal shape.
TRI-CONTOUR PROCESS
STEP 1:
ENSURING COMFORT
Numbing fluid is infused into the fat through tiny openings in the skin. This ensures that the area is completely numb and protects the healthy tissues for the remainder of the treatment.
STEP 2:
GENTLE MELTING
The Smartlipo Triplex Laser is used to gently “melt” fat and stimulate collagen production, allowing the skin to tighten over time.
STEP 3:
GENTLE ELIMINATION
Finally, the liquified fat is removed using the MicroAire™ power-assisted liposuction system, which facilitates increased control and precision when contouring the area.

Recovery for Liposculpture
of the Legs and Thighs
Our treatment is designed to limit recovery time and discomfort. Your treatment will be customized to your individual anatomy and needs, so your recovery times may vary.
Many of our patients return to work the next day, though we recommend that you give yourself at least two days to rest. You may be slightly sore the next day, but most patients find that Tylenol provides enough comfort.
We will provide a compression garment for you to wear for 3 weeks, but you may need to wear it longer depending on how your legs are healing. You can resume a light workout in a week, but you should avoid heavy lifting or intense exercise for 2 weeks.
